If the Barossa had been settled by Burgundians, rather than originally being a home for fortified wines and dry Riesling, this is the type of expression of Grenache we might have seen over 100 years earlier - what many now call “warm-climate Burgundy”. Grenache as a single-expression, finally being taken seriously outside the miniscule enclave of Chateau Rayas in Northern Rhône. Indeed, even in Grenache-dominant Spain, until recent decades, the vast majority of Grenache made rosé, not red wine. Anyway I digress. This is seriously delicious, world-class Grenache.
